Alumni Advisory Board
Patricia Monteleone, M.D., former Dean of the School of Medicine formed an Executive Advisory Board. The scope of the Board is to:
- provide valuable, external perspective
- offer advice, expertise, and useful criticism for the School of Medicine programs
- identify trends in healthcare
- serve as ambassadors for the University
- promote valuable relationships with alumni and friends
At the introductory meeting, the Dean noted that there are many times she would like to have the chance to discuss an idea with an alum to get another opinion. This group puts some structure to that desire for give and take. The Board meets quarterly. We will keep in touch with you as we move forward.
Medical School Reunion 2009
Mark your calendars. The Medical School Reunion 2009 for classes ending in 4 and 9 will be the weekend of Oct. 22 – 24, 2009. If you would like to get involved in the planning of your class party, please call Cheryl Byrd at (314) 977-8318 or e-mail cbyrd3@slu.edu.
White Coat Ceremony
This special cloaking ceremony emphasizes the code of professional conduct for our entering students as they embark on their medical careers.
Alumni Ambassadors
The Alumni Office has formed a group of Alumni Ambassadors to work with the Admissions Office. Would you like to talk to prospective medical students to give them your insight on the School of Medicine? The Alumni Office will provide you with basic information on the University to enable you to answer general questions. We feel this would be a great way for the Alumni to be involved and assist in recruiting excellent students. Our plan is to give you a list of approximately 3-5 students to call to see if they have any questions about the University. We hope this personal touch assists students in selecting Saint Louis University. Want to get involved? Please call Cheryl Byrd at (314) 977-8318 or e-mail cbyrd3@slu.edu.
Alumni Network
Following Match Day, when graduating students receive their residency assignments, they often find themselves going to a new city. Would you like to be a contact person in your city for our students? The Alumni Office would provide your name and phone number as someone who could help the recent graduate get acquainted with his or her new surroundings. Call or e-mail Cheryl Byrd at cbyrd3@slu.edu if you are interested.
