The department is housed in the Doisy Research Center, a state-of-the art research building completed in 2007 and located in the heart of midtown St. Louis, Missouri.

Founded in 1923 by Nobel Laureate Edward A Doisy, the Department has a diverse faculty who use the most modern technological approaches to pursue their broad ranging research interests in the areas of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biophysics and Genetics.

The Ph.D. and MD/Ph.D. graduate programs are designed to develop student expertise and inquisitiveness and emphasizes personal interactions and individualized training. Students in both programs are supported by generous stipends and paid tuition. Our former students have successful careers in both academia and industry.
