Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG)
FMIG is a great vehicle to help students explore technology, clinical resources, research, leadership development, career choice and much more.  A departmental faculty advisor works with the FMIG.

MEDICAL STUDENT - COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS AFFILIATED WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND FAMILY MEDICINE

  • Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Task Force
    SLU Medical Student Interest Group that provides comunity-based prevention education programs in collaboration with Jewish Family aand Children's Services
  • TARWARS (Smoking Prevention)
    SLU Medical Student Interest Group that provides community-based tobacco use prevention education programs.  This is a program of the American Academy of Family Physicians and done in collaboration with the Saint Louis Academy of Family Practice
  • HIV/AIDS Task Force
    SLU Medical Student Interest Group that works in collaboration with the Department to provide prevention education programs to community schools
  • International/Global Health
    Information on the departmental elective in international health, reports from medical students participating in international health experiences, and listings of SLU faculty who participate in various international health programs and/or mission activities
  • Learning Communities
    SLU School of Medicine is introducing the Learning Communities for medical students based on interests. Currently available communities: Academic Medicine, Global Health, Medical Research, Service and Advocacy, and Wellness and Spirituality
