Jennifer Richards, Graduate Student in Dr. Samson's lab, gave a talk at the 5th International Congress on Prediabetes and the Metabolic Syndrome in Vienna, Austria on April 18-20, 2013. Her talk was entitled, "Rescuing Low O2-Induced ATP Release from Erythrocytes of Humans with Type 2 Diabetes (DM2): New Role for C-peptide in the Treatment of Diabetes."

MD/PhD

MD/PhD students may seek to do their graduate work in Pharmacological and Physiological Science. This has been a valuable source of outstanding students and since 1985 we have trained 16 such students. After completing the first two years of medical school they then enter the graduate program in Pharmacological and Physiological Science and are supported by the Department.
